Join Stephen Harrigan and J.P. Bryan for a lecture and reception at The Bryan Museum in Galveston. Harrigan is the Museum’s Second Annual Distinguished Speaker. Author of eleven books of fiction and non-fiction, including the award-winning novel The Gates of the Alamo, he will discuss his upcoming publication, a sweeping history of Texas, titled Big Wonderful Thing, due out this October. Harrigan is a writer-at-large and long-time contributor to Texas Monthly as well as a noted screenwriter and essayist. For his various literary achievements, he was presented in 2019 with the Texas Medal of Arts. He and his wife Sue Ellen live in Austin.
